But we don’t love the government; we don’t love the bigotry; we don’t love the politics; and we don’t love the corruption. The Malaysian governing cultural philosophy is if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing as wrong and as loudly as possible. We don’t have to be this way.
Ask yourself, what is a country anyway? Is it the government? The constitution? The foreign ambassador? Is it the people? Is it YOU?
The poet Jeffers once said in his poem Wise Men In Their Bad Hours, “But to die having made something more equal to the centuries than muscle and bone, is mostly to shed weakness.” We don’t want to be weak anymore.
So let’s stop blaming the politicians, the clergy, and each other. Let’s make something more than equal to the centuries together for Malaysia. Let’s gain Merdeka for our souls, a Merdeka spirit for today’s world. Let’s save ourselves because we ARE Malaysia. Malaysia is not the politicians, the clergy and the hatemongers.
We are Malaysia. Happy 58th Birthday to our beloved country.
